The purpose of the APPG British Hindus is to provide a platform for parliamentarians to engage with and represent the interests of British Hindus, as well as to encourage dialogue and understanding between the Hindu community and the wider society.

We are committed to promoting the interests of British Hindus in a variety of ways, including:

  1. Advocacy and representation: The group aims to provide a voice for the British Hindu community in Parliament and to raise awareness of issues affecting them. The group also works to ensure that the views of the community are taken into account in the formulation of policies and legislation.
  2. Community engagement: We will regularly engage with the British Hindu community through events and consultations, to better understand their needs and concerns. The group also works to promote community cohesion and dialogue between different faiths and cultures.
  3. Promotion of Hindu culture: The group is committed to promoting the rich and diverse culture of the Hindu community in the UK, and to raising awareness of the contributions made by British Hindus to society.
  4. Policy development: The APPG British Hindus works to develop policy proposals and recommendations that reflect the needs and interests of the British Hindu community, and to ensure that these are considered by the Government and other decision-makers.

Overall, our aim is to promote the interests and welfare of the British Hindu community and to provide a platform for parliamentarians to engage with and represent their views. Through its advocacy and community engagement, the group seeks to promote dialogue and understanding
